A bit of a delay in the download today but everything should be up to date as of 9:30pm EST including the new sector Antennae Galaxies. I hope everyone had a great Christmas time with their friends and family.
The data download is complete for this week. If you notice any problems please let me know.
I would like to let the community know that the data download for next week will be LATE as I have family Christmas parties to attend and I will not be at home on Saturday morning. I will do my best to get the data updated when I can but it will not be on time.
Looking at how fast some of these new sectors are growing you can tell that the game has definitely changed. As aways if you notice that something is incorrect please let me know. There are about 50 active sectors again and I do not have the time to double check each one. If anything appears incorrect make sure you give me your player name, alliance name and sector name.
You need to be in an alliance on Saturday mornings in order for me to capture your data. This week I top the 40 alliances in each sector.
I have made some efficiency improvements on my side but there is still a speed problem, I am still looking into it. I have been downloading the top 60 alliances and the top 60 pages from the lifetime force table for each sector. Next week I will reduce that to the top 50 of each to try and speed things up. Running my computer for 4+ hours to get this data is a bit ridiculous.
Anyways, download is complete for this week check out your stats. If you notice anything is incorrect or missing just send me a message.
The download this week was a bit rocky as I had a bunch of connectivity problems and the connection to the servers was extremely slow. I hope this is just an anomaly and not a sign of things to come. I am reviewing my process to see if I can find any improvements.
However, I believe the download is now complete and everything is updated (1:15am EST). If you notice anything is still incorrect please let me know. (email@example.com)
The data download for this week is complete. This week I have also decided to hang up this game. I will keep GamerProgress running for as long as a can so it can bring you the player base a better gaming experience. If the time comes that I will shut it down I will do my best to give you advanced warning.
I have made many good friends in this game and I have learned many things that I would have not have. So over all the game has been a benefit but the time that I spent doing useless clicking needs to end.
Halloween has come and gone and the celebrations in Edgeworld for the occasion seem to be just an after thought for Kabam. We, as the players, would love to see Kabam engaged in the game and prepare for each season or opportunity to advance the game story but this doesn't seem to be happening.
The data download for this week is complete and the lessons that the data is telling me is that many players are advancing in force and levels so fast that the "chimera map trick" feels like a joke.
I have completed the download of the data for this week. Hellborn is the current Edgeworld level leader and Rab continues to lead Edgeworld in force and PraetoriansUnleashed of Bok Koh Nebula continues to be the top alliance.
That's all for now, keep having fun and happy hunting.
Data download is complete for this week. I have built a new home page to thank those who have contributed to GamerProgress and give them a little perk of a quick link to their data. It isn't much but it is what I can offer. I have also tried to improve the loading performance of game wide pages like the Sectors page and the game Leader Boards page. Please let me know if the changes I made resulted in something unintended.
I am thinking of creating a player stories section of GamerProgress. If you have a story about how you are making the game fun for you and your team please send it to me and I will post it. At this point in Edgeworld we can't necessarily rely on Kabam to fix our game so lets share some positive stories about how you are making the game fun. Send your stories to GamerProgress@gmail.com make sure you include your player name and your sector.
Thanks for checking out the site and happy hunting.
First off I would like wish all the Canadians out there a Happy Thanksgiving! The data download for this week is complete. I have increased the number of alliances downloaded to 60 per sector and I have increase the number of players that I am downloading life time fore to about page 60 of the lifetime force leader board. I hope that this change captures most of the active players in the game. However, I still need you to be in an alliance on Saturday morning (approximately 7:00am-9:00am EST) in order for your data to be included.
According to Google Analytics GamerProgress.com had 1492 unique visitors last week who combined for a total of 26 902 page views. The average time on the site is 8:19. Thanks for checking out the site please take a look at the Support page to learn how you can help me keep this site online.
Welcome to the new look and feel of GamerProgress.com. I have been busy at this for a few weeks so hopefully you all continue find the site helpful and now hopefully nicer to look at. I have tried to take most of the functionality out of the original site and bring it here to the new one. Please take a good look around and let me know if any of the features you used are no longer available. In addition, if anything is not working as would expect please let me know by sending me a message at GamerProgress@gmail.com.
I have included a bunch of new stuff and I wanted to bring in some of the great graphics that Kabam developers have come up with but we rarely have a chance to really appreciate.
The data download is complete for this week. I tried to increase the number of alliances downloaded per sector. There is a small bug right now when a player missed the previous download (ie. the new alliances). I am working on it and will hopefully get it fixed soon. (*fixed)
I can only speak to my sector when I say the map play is very quiet and the PVP play has slowed down significantly. However, the force accumulation has been huge and taking a look at Rab gaining force it may be something that many sectors are experiencing.
The data download is complete for this week so take a look to see where you and your team are at this week. I am also working on an entire new layout and feel for GamerProgress that I hope to have available very soon so stay tuned for that.
The data download for this week is finished. I fixed a few bugs in downloading alliance names with " characters or \ / characters so hopefully we have a more complete data set displaying for each sector. Thanks for bring that to my attention.
A few months after the sector merges and our sector is starting to feel a lot like the old dead sector that I came from. I hope that your sectors still have sparks of life in them.
GamerProgress.com data is now up to date for this week. G47 still taking command of Edgeworld with a commanding level of 285,210 and 91,422,428 force. Robotech Evolution is in the top spot for alliances this week with a power of 5,129,366.
There have been a a bunch of force tournaments last little while and now Kabam is selling troop boxes (read force) in the shop. So the over all force values have sky rocketed this week.
I also want to give a recognition to PROMETEUS61 who is the leader in the newest sector with a level of 13,187. As well we see Phantom empire as the top alliance.
Thanks for visiting the site and please check back often and share with your sector.
The new sector Ceti Alpha 7 was released this week and Kabam is now offering new base packages so you don't have to start at level 1 if you have the cash.
Data download is complete for this week. Check you player / sector stats and keep me posted if anything seems out of line. There were a few issues with the player search feature this week but the should be fixed.
Hello Edgeworld, data update has been completed for this week and I am experimenting with allowing you to select which week you want to see the data for. If you go to your alliance page you will see a drop down menu of dates. These dates represent specific data snapshots. You should be able to select a data and see what your alliance was on that date. If you have any difficulties please let me know at GamerProgress@gmail.com. I am hoping to role this out for other parts of the site as well.
Compared to last week things in Edgeworld this week have been much less eventful. Late in the week Kabam fixed the base moving bug so now you can move your base with the specified amount of resources. This is the best way to upgrade your map score and now finally something we can do with resources.
The other exciting thing this week is that Kabam put out a call for applications for anyone who would like to become a moderator on the Kabam.com forums for Edgeworld. So if you are interesting in becoming more involved in the game I would suggest you check it out.
For those of you who were locked out of alliances because of the new cool down timer rules your data may not show up this week because I don't have last week to compare it too. Other than that checkout all the up to date levels and scores.
This week Edgeworld had a few major shake ups and the data is up to date as best as I can.
To start things off we saw an update error that caused the 2 level max increase on a single attack disappear. The data definitely show a larger increase in level gains then what we are used to. The level cap was fixed about 18-20hrs after it broke so this dramatic increase in levels was the result of a very short time period. This error also caused a number of people to receive short term suspensions. To understand the impact, in previous weeks a player or two would exceed the 10k levels in the week. A few times we saw a top level gainer get 17k or so levels. This week we almost 80 players exceed 10k levels and the top level gainer was more than 40k. Just imagine if this glitch was longer than 20ish hours.
Then to keep things moving this week kabam, with out any warning, decided to make a major change to the map play. The most significant of these changes was a reduction in the upper base count and alliance was able to hold. This was reduced from 25k to 10k allowing more alliances to share the map space. Other changes include:
Max map node is now 50k
Map nodes are no longer just Maar as they have mixed in the other faction
The upper level nodes now match faction bases making attacking nodes much more interesting
The resource requirements to move are extremely high (I am expecting a storage depot buff soon)
Map score doesn't double at base cap
Map nodes can now count towards score more then just 2k so score can and will be higher
While I am in agreement with many of these map changes, I would have much preferred a bit of notice. With the inability to move player bases it made things very difficult to position your alliance in a strong map location as many of your players where everywhere especially for large alliances. Larger and stronger alliance fought to get the map space they wanted. After the update they just had to sit an watch to see what there enemies would leave them. So kabam, nice update to the map but would it have killed you to let us know? A 24 hour notice of a 15k base reduction in cap would have made a huge difference in what transpired in the last 24 hours.
There also seems to be something strange with the 72 hour cool down timer as a few players in my sector have been locked out of any alliance for the 72 hours. I assume that other sectors have had this problem as well. Since GamerProgress.com downloads the top 40 alliances some of these players have been missed during this download. So it could take a week or two to get everyone sorted out again.
The changes to the map and these new rules on alliance cool down have made some serious shifts in the landscape of my sector and I assume in many others as well.
I almost forgot that a new sector Genesis II opened up this week. Starting the game now with all these new features must be overwhelming but we will watch as the sector grows.
I am having difficulty with the server connections to the database. I am working to get this resolved.
thanks for your patience.
12:40pm EST - Update
I have the site back up, I am not sure what caused the outage I am concerned that a spam engine was flooding the site with hits. I am working to prevent this in future but I am not 100% clear on what occurred.
Data is up to date as of this morning. There were a few data problems last week and I thank those who brought them to my attention. If you notice anything wrong with the data send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fresh set of data has been plugged into GamerProgress. I have revamped the alliance member page to try and provide more detail on one screen. You can sort the table by each column which should eliminate the need for alliance leader boards. I have also added a new tab to individual player pages to allow you to view the player details and graph on Force or Level.
Well if you think you have a good alliance compare yourself with any other alliance in Edgeworld with GamerProgress' new Alliance Comparison tool.
You will also see some new icons on the leaderboard indicating which colonies each player owns. I will try and work this information into other places of GamerProgress. This update is thanks to JTG who requested it and FidoFuz for helping me find where the data was stored.
This week has also seen the development of a new navigation for the main parts of the site. I hope this makes the site easier to walk through. I also increased the number of players whom I downloaded the force values for. I am hoping that I am capturing most of the players now who are in the top 40 alliances of each sector.
The download is complete for this week and the Force leader boards are working correctly. I am downloading all the players in the top 40 or so alliances in each sector and then I download the top 20 pages or so of the lifetime force leader board. I match up the force download to the player download. So in order for your force values to get downloaded you need to be in both lists.
I have received a lot of feedback recently and a lot of feature suggestions. Some of them are really great ideas but I am only one guy doing this in my spare time so I will see what I can do to implement them.
Hey guys, download is complete for this week but there was and error in my code and I over wrote last weeks force values so there is still no force gain this week. I will hopefully get this fixed for next download so we will have to wait for next week to see leader boards for force gain.
I have added Force to the player downloads. At this point you can view player force in the Game, Sector and Alliance Leaderboards.
There may be a few bugs as I had to do a bunch of work to clean everything up now that we have a lot of data in. I have about 2 million data records in the database so that required a bit of modifications.
There is currently a small issue that I am aware of with certain player graphs I am working on it. Please review your own data and let me know if anything appears to be incorrect.
Many people are finding themselves with level 1 bases after sector merges. This is because you are not in the right sector. Try changing sectors first and see if your original player is there.
The data in gamerprogress.com has been updated and the leader boards are current. Find your sector and see how you are doing.
I couldn't find any more announcements for more mergers so maybe (hopefully) kabam is going to take a short break and attend to some support issues. The last weeks merges seemed to cause a bit more confusion then normal. If more mergers are announced I will post them here as I have before.
The list of sectors is getting much shorter now after the mergers so hopefully you can find yours easily.
All data is up to date as of this morning. New section of user feedback added this week. Let me know what you think of the site and I will put your quote up on the page. Thanks for checking out the site.
*NOT in the original post but apparently was added to the merge later.
PLEASE NOTE: If you log in and your base is at level 1 please check the sector name. If it isn't the sector that is listed above you HAVE NOT completed the merge yet. Please try to change sectors to see if you can find your original player name. If your new sector name it not listed please be patient your merge is not yet complete.
Data update for this week is complete. I had received a bit of feedback that the data for Nubecula Major (80) was incorrect as I appeared to be missing a few alliances. Turns out, the single quotes or apostrophes were messing up my code. So if you had an apostrophe in your alliance name my code skipped it. I think that I have it solved for this week.
Andromeda(1) and Omega Centauri(2) were involved in sector mergers this week gamerprogress.com should now have a complete list of players in Edgeworld.
More Mergers announced
Looks like kabam has figured out the merger process as they are going ahead with the following mergers this week:
REMEMBER: Sector mergers can take 10 hours, if you log in and you are level 1 check the sector you are logged in to. It will probably NOT be your final destination. Sector names are listed above so be patient. Contact support if you end up in the correct sector after the merge and you are missing any items.
This week saw 2 large mergers taking 4 and 5 older sectors and merging them into one. The new sectors are called Soul Hunter Galaxy and Big Bang Nebula. When sector merges happen then the leader board here at gamerprogress.com is affected because I don't have a baseline value in the new sector. Next week we will be able to see who emerges on top of these two new sectors.
My sector Tau Ceti was in the merges this week and I have to say the game hasn't been this much fun for a long time. We are in tough against a few big sectors but the energy in the game has gone way up. So if your sector is listed below get ready to have some fun!
More sector mergers have been announced in the forums by Nick.
It appears that the sector merge between Seyfert (20) and Aquila (32) to create Serene Valley Nebula (180) has been successful. The map is not currently available in the new sector yet this puts my mind as ease so when sector merges come to your sector you can assemble your new team before the map war begins.
With 2 sets of data in for Auriga SaltandPepper (179) we are seeing that Mayhem has jumped in front of the pack with an impressive 3.4k levels gained this week.
Where is all this data coming from?
To answer that you can check out a short blog that I wrote explaining how I am working with the Edgeworld API.
Player Tip for this week:
Boosting on PVE (factions) can yeiled higher levels gained in a timed boost because you are limited to 2 levles up per attack. Lower XP but faster attacks result in more levels gained.
The data update for this week has been completed and the talk of our sector has been the possibility of a sector merge. The first round was just announced and Aquila and Seyfert should be joining together to form the Serene Valley Nebula sector. In light of sector mergers I hope this site will help players get a better sense of what the new sectors will look like now that I have 3 data points for most sectors.
A new sector was added this week Auriga SaltandPepper so we will watch that sector grow and change in the coming months.
Playing online games are the same as any game, keeping score is part of the fun. I hope that this site helps people keep score and allows for mini-competitions between friends.
I am a regular player like any other. I have been corrected that Edgeworld was released in May of 2011 (thanks FidoFuz). I have been playing it since August 2011 which was shortly after it was released on Google+. I know that many players and alliances in our sector all have different ways of keeping track of all the data that Edgeworld has to offer. I have attempted a variety of leader boards and things for our alliance and the alliances of our close allies. Each one of my attempts have become bigger in scope and in data. This is my latest attempt at providing good data for not only my home sector but for all sectors in Edgeworld.
I hope that you find this tool helpful and it increases your enjoyment of the game. If you have ideas for this application I will do my best to implement them. I can be contacted at GamerProgress@gmail.com.
